CW is sometimes known as the “original digital mode”, and has been around for almost 200 years. Although there is no longer a licensing requirement for code proficiency, many hams continue to use and enjoy this mode of communication.
In the club, we have a number of members who are very proficient and interested in the code. Our Sunday morning net on 80 meters uses CW, we use CW extensively at Field Day, and a number of members are active CW operators.
