SWL

Many Hams started their interest in radio by getting involved with Short Wave Listening. If there is enough interest, we can start up a SWL group!

If you tune your receiver anywhere on the HF bands, outside of our Amateur bands, you will come across a wide variety of interesting signals. Maybe a news broadcast from a far away country, aircraft travelling across the Atlantic, ships at sea, weather reports and weather faxes are just a few of the things you’ll come across.  In the evenings, on the regular AM broadcast band, you will find signals from across the continent, maybe even from Europe or the Carribean.

Let us know if you are into SWL, or would like to be.  This is another really fascinating part of the radio experience.
