On Tuesday, May 5th, we are in for a treat. Our own Peter Taylor VE3DRS will be sharing his considerable expertise in FOX HUNTING. This interesting activity can be done simple equipment, or using very sophisticated methods. Peter will share his skills with us, using a compass, a map, a straight edge, and a pencil. Later in May, a Fox Hunt will be scheduled, so we can try our new found skills.
Please mark this in your calendar today!

Did you know we now have an IRLP node? The Club has purchased an Imbedded Linux IRLP board which will soon be on air. When you are travelling, if you are in range of any IRLP repeater, simply call up node 2121, and you will be in touch with your friends back in Brampton. Besides checking in to our repeater from “away”, you can call up friends in other places from you own 2 metre radio. It should be lots of fun!
We hope to have a high speed internet connection made available at our repeater site. If that is possible, the IRLP and Echolink nodes will co-exist there along with an improved packet network.
Check back soon for more details!

It was a perfect day with comfortable summer temperatures and not a cloud in the sky! Over 150 riders set off on over 100 Km of hill climbs, down hills and flats, ending up in a sprint finish among the elite riders. Altogether they rode 12 laps of the course.
The PARC volunteers provided communications from strategic locations around the course, and from the Commissar’s and other race official vehicles. We provided liaison with the OPP officers on duty and St John Ambulance responders. We used the VE3OD repeater. Our thanks to the Halton ARC for granting our use of their machine.
Anyone watching APRS that morning would have seen VA3UPL going round and round as the Commissar Car followed the main peleton as they completed their laps.
